Create handmade ceramic butter dishes with a coordinated set of forming tools designed to help cut and assemble the main components of the dish.
What’s Included
The set includes four pieces:

Finished Size & Butter Capacity
For reference, the example butter dish shown was made with clay that experienced approximately 12–14% shrinkage. After firing, the finished butter dish had an approximate interior length of 5.5 inches and interior height of 2.25 inches, providing plenty of room for a standard stick of butter.
Clay shrinkage varies by clay body, firing temperature, and individual making process, so your finished dimensions may differ.
Add Your Own Texture & Style
The decorative texture shown on some of the example butter dishes is NOT part of this cutter set.
The cutters create the components needed to form the butter dish itself. The ivy/floral texture shown in the greenware and finished glazed examples was added separately to demonstrate how the basic form can be customized.
Use the finished butter dish as a blank canvas for your own textures, stamps, carving, underglazes, glazes, or other surface decoration. Texture tools are not included with this set.
Made for Pottery Makers
This set is intended as a forming aid for ceramic and pottery work, allowing you to create your own covered butter dishes and customize each one with your preferred clay body and decorating techniques.
Because clay bodies, slab thickness, forming techniques, drying, firing schedules, and shrinkage vary, finished results will vary from the examples shown.

These tools are 3D printed, so minor layer lines and other characteristics of the 3D-printing process may be visible. These are normal characteristics of 3D-printed tools.
The greenware and glazed butter dishes pictured in this listing are examples of what can be created using the set and are not included with your purchase.
Finished dimensions will depend on your clay body and its shrinkage rate. The approximately 5.5-inch interior length and 2.25-inch interior height stated above are measurements from the example piece after approximately 12–14% shrinkage and are not guaranteed dimensions for every finished piece.
